Services

The Laboratory for Applied Geology and Hydrogeology provides service to third parties and industrial partners including laboratory analyses, geophysical and hydrogeological prospection as well as consulting services.

Our key research facilities and services include:

– Geophysical well logging tools (natural gamma-ray, electromagnetic, resistivity and spontaneous potential logging)

– Electrical Resistivity Tomography and Induced Polarization (Syscal Pro 72) including automatic monitoring unit

– Spectral Induced Polarization equipment for laboratory characterization of electric properties on rock and soil samples

– Laboratory analysis of water samples (major and minor anions and cations)

– Sandbox laboratory scale model equipped with open-hardware ERT/IP equipment (Ohm.pi) for lab monitoring of flow and transport processes

– Field equipment for hydraulic head monitoring, pumping tests and slug tests, including packers to isolate screen intervals.

– Groundwater modelling including advanced approach for heterogeneity characterization and uncertainty quantification (geostatistical modelling, stochastic modelling, Bayesian approaches)

– Shallow geothermal energy applications

– Advanced geophysical inversion approaches
