Education

The Laboratory for Applied Geology and Hydrogeology contributes to the Bachelor and Master programme in Geology as well as to the Master in Science in Sustainable Land Management, through basic and advanced hydrogeology courses (groundwater, groundwater chemistry, groundwater modelling), geophysics courses (Applied Geophysics, Hydrogeophysics project), and environment (environmental impact assessment).

The research group is also very active in the supervision of bachelor projects and master theses, and in the supervision of internships through its strong network of industrial partners.

Prof. Thomas Hermans is the Chair of the Study Programme Committee for the Master in Science in Sustainable Land Management and the promotor of the related ICP-CONNECT project financed by VLIRUOS. This programme is an inter-university programme organized jointly with the VUB and the Faculty of bio-engineering. The ICP-CONNECT allows us to support teaching activities in collaboration with our South Partners, including internships, master theses and integrated projects. The ICP-CONNECT also supports students from the Global South through study scholarships. More information on the dedicated SULAMA website.
